Writer’s Workshop – The terrible bra

Whenever I get a post idea I write it down to use it later (or to use it never). This week one of the topics on Mama Kat’s writer’s workshop was something I’ve had on that list for a while. I’ll be telling you about a clothing item I absolutely hate wearing.

The Prompts:

1.) List 6 random facts about you and your husband. (example here)
2.) Show us what June looks like in your neck of the woods.
3.) Write a post inspired by the word: bra
4.) What are you eating? Share a yummy summery recipe.
5.) Share some of your favorite blogging or vlogging tips.

3.) Write a post inspired by the word: bra

The bra is the last item I put on before I leave home and the first thing I take off when I come home. I hate wearing them and if my boobs were pretty and perky I’d probably stop wearing a bra altogether.

Well, maybe not. I am a civilized person after all.

Why do I hate wearing a bra, you ask?

The bra straps rub and chafe my shoulders and leave a nasty mark if they’re too tight. If the straps are too loose they fall off constantly and that’s just nerve wrecking. My bras try to dig they’re way in between all my extra fat and that makes me feel myself really pretty, (not!). Why are bras so uncomfortable…

Wearing a bra hurts and itches like a crazy every now and then, at least in my case. I went through a heart surgery when I was three and that left a scar right under my left armpit. The scar just happens to exactly in line with the bra wings and the left wing just rubs on the scar all day long, which makes it extremely itchy. It’s so frustrating!

To this day I haven’t found a bra that I feel comfortable wearing. I may have been looking for them in all the wrong places and I probably should go see some sort of bra specialist.

I just absolutely hate wearing a bra!

With warm hugs and gentle thuds – Keri

  1. I actually read an article a couple weeks ago about bras. It was showing a new set of studies that literally burning bras is a great idea. The theory was because bras are so uncomfortable and they absolutely do not fit the shape of our muscles around our breast, they are doing more harm than good. It also showed that the sagging threat if a bra isn’t worn 24/7 is not true. interesting enough, I rarely wear a bra unless I have to. I tend to buy shirts that are made to wear without a bra. Now, I have no cleavage or large boobs to speak of but I am 36 years old and have had two children. Gained a lot of weight and lost it again. All in all, me not wearing a bra has had no downsides to it. Other than those weird moments when some salesman or that one neighbor wants to visit, like the preacher and then I have to excuse myself just out of embarrassment. Great post!!!
