Wednesday Review – How to Marry a Finnish Girl

Wednesday Review

A while ago I went and asked a bunch of book recommendations from my friends. A co-worker suggested I read a book called How to Marry a Finnish Girl.

The book is written by an American writer, mobilist and a social media geek, Phil Schwarzmann. He lived in Finland for about ten years and now lives in San Francisco. He works as Head of Social Media of Nokia, North America and does comedy on the side.

The book is a guide book on how to survive Finnish winters and social situations, and how to date a Finnish girl and marry her as well. The book covers issues such as:

– How to chat up a Finnish girl?
– How to build your own house like a real Finnish man?
– How long will it take me to learn Finnish?
– How to identify a Finn on holiday?
– How to survive Finnish winter?
– And more!

It’s a funny book and I actually laughed out loud a couple of times. It’s a rather thin book as well, so it was a really quick one to read. I would recommend this book to everyone, who has even the slightest interest in Finnish culture or even if you don’t. It’s a funny book!

I give How to Marry a Finnish Girl by Phil Schwarzmann four thumbs up!

Four thumbs

With warm hugs and gentle thuds – Keri
