Writer’s Workshop – Colourful me!

Many people might say that I’m a colourful person because I’m always smiling and upbeat. I’m pretty sure I agree. I did some research for this weeks writer’s workshop prompt, and I found out that even your favorite colour says a lot about you and your personality.

The Prompts:

1.) When you were in high school what was your favorite song? What did it mean to you then and what does it mean to you now?
2.) 10 reasons you should be glad I didn’t blog in my 20′s. (Inspired by Wendy Aarons and friends)
3.) If you had to select a color to pick your personality what would it be? (inspired by Jamie Miles)
4.) Inspired by Pinterest.
5.) Share how you came up with your kids names!

3.) If you had to select a color to pick your personality what would it be?

After a little research I came to the conclusion that I’m a happy mix of green, yellow, orange and a little bit of magenta. I base this on the information on the interpretations based on your favorite colours I found from Empower yourself with colour psychology. The site has short descriptions of what each colour says about you. I don’t know how reliable the interpretations are, and it doesn’t really matter; I did this just for fun.

If orange is your favorite color, you have a great need to be with people, to socialize with them, and be accepted and respected as part of a group. You also have a need for challenges in your life, whether it is physical or social challenges.

Choosing yellow as your favorite means you have a deep need for logical order in your everyday life and to be able to express your individuality by using your logical mind to inspire and create new ideas.

If green is your favorite, you have a deep need to belong, to love and be loved, and to feel safe and secure. You need acceptance and acknowledgment for the everyday things you do for others – just a ‘thank you’ is sufficient.

If your favorite color is magenta, you are a non-conformist who sees life from a different point of view.

I also did an image search with the colour listed above and found this horn trumpet toy for children. It has all the colours of my personality and I think it describes me pretty well; colourful, weird, questionable, loud and fun.

Me as a toy

  1. Did u read the part of disliking some colours. There isn’t babyblue that’s my least favourite colour but I don’t like brown or gray that either. I think that part “The colors you dislike can tell you a lot about yourself as well, often reflecting your weaknesses and vulnerabilities” could be very true. When it comes to gray, I dispise “middle of the road” -types and in brown it’s all about security and I’m so bad in it.

    1. I didn’t actually read that, but I find that theory very interesting. I don’t like white which could mean that maybe I’m not as independent and self-reliant as I thought I was.

  2. How come? :

    “If you dislike white you:

White is too sterile for you – you need more color in your life.
You are easy going and relaxed – not fussy and particular.
You are spontaneous and impulsive and white is too self controlled for you.
You need lots of interesting things going on in your life – the simple life is too boring for you.
You are not concerned with order and perfection in your own life – a little dust on the shelves is okay with you.
You take life as you find it and make the most of what you have.”
